Field Visual Merchandiser
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Space NK Visual Merchandising team is seeking a Field Visual Merchandiser to support the delivery of exceptional visual standards across the retail estate. This store-based role is responsible for planning and executing brand-aligned visual merchandising, ensuring a consistent and premium customer experience in line with Space NK’s luxury positioning. Working closely with Retail Teams, the Field Visual Merchandiser will provide in-store support, training, and guidance, while acting as a key link between stores and the wider VM and support teams to maintain brand standards and communicate feedback effectively. The role will also involve supporting new store openings and refits on a rotational basis.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Visual Merchandising
• Act as the primary Visual Merchandising contact for stores within your region, building trusted relationships with Retail and Store teams.
• Supporting the VM team to communicate & cascade information to stores through visual merchandising packs and guidelines. Ensure the consistency of presentation and visual direction is maintained all stores.
• Attend regular virtual meetings with the VM Manager, VM Coordinator, and wider Visual Merchandising team to review priorities, projects, and business updates.
• Work closely with the VM Manager & VM Coordinators to ensure consistent execution of business priorities from a store-level.
• Partnering with the Retail & stores teams to follow company guidelines, ensuring all VM initiatives and styling direction is applied to the highest possible standard.
• Proactively manage & plan store visits.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback following store visits, ensuring actions and opportunities are clearly communicated and followed through.
• Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of wider business objectives and the ability to make decisions that support sales performance and enhance customer experience.
Store Refit/New Store Openings
• Attend and assist on new store set-ups, based on the needs of the business.
• Assist with pre-new store preparation, such as new orders and printing shelf layout and guidelines.
• Work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Support visual installations during store openings, such as brand shelf layouts, dressing fixtures, and areas of the store.
• Lead and support visual installations, including brand adjacencies, category layouts, fixture dressing, signage placement, and merchandising execution
• Work collaboratively with the store team to ensure VM standards are delivered efficiently and to company guidelines.
• Confidently share feedback & report in-store issues/challenges to the wider VM team within a timely manner to continually evolve best practices.
Stores
• Conduct regular store visits, proactively planning schedules based on business priorities, opportunities, and store performance.
• Coach, inspire, and develop store teams to confidently deliver and maintain visual merchandising standards in line with brand expectations.
• Deliver engaging in-store training for both new and existing team members, building visual merchandising knowledge, confidence, and capability.
• Work in partnership with Retail Area Managers and Store Managers to ensure visual merchandising principles are clearly understood and consistently applied.
• Confidently communicate and reiterating recent updates within the VM to store teams, such as guidelines & initiative updates.
• Support and advise store teams on brand adjacencies, category placements within the store layout, when requested.
• Consistently provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and practical support to store teams, empowering them to take ownership of visual standards.
• Balance creativity with commercial objectives, to ensure key product stories are highlighted & visual decisions support both brand elevation and drive sales performance.
Additional Responsibilities
• On occasion attend the Capper St office for touch-base meetings with VM Coordinator, VM Manager & wider VM team.
• Manage workload effectively while travelling and working independently across multiple locations.
• Provide additional support to the Retail teams to deliver in store visual standards across the portfolio.
• Actively support the VM team with updating store guidelines.
• Maintain accurate store information and visual communication resources.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives that support the wider Visual Merchandising and Retail teams.
SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• 1-2 years of retail field experience
• 1-2 years of visual merchandising experience, within cosmetics is desirable.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland, working varying hours. (Possible overnight stays and late nights to meet the needs of the business).
• Flexible to work on off-site locations for store-set ups, carrying out physical work and support with occasional event set-ups.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Passionate about Visual Merchandising, retail trends, and creating exceptional customer experiences.
• Highly adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
• Collaborative team player with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of creativity and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills required for liaising with the Visual Merchandising team, Retail & store teams, and our customers.
• The ability to build professional working relationships.
• Working knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
